Hi! I'm Lauren
Growing up, I loved playing sports and enjoyed being outdoors. Balanced meals were almost always present and treats were often rare. As a kid, I felt like I was missing out on the “good stuff” but as an adult, man am I ever thankful!
I started weightlifting in high school and grew to love being strong. I believe these early days in the gym laid a firm foundation for the habits I still continue more than 20 years later. In 2006, I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in Public Health. I had landed the perfect major for my personality and passions; leading, teaching and inspiring others into healthful living through a holistic and whole person approach.
Prior to starting Lauren Ashley Wellness, I spent more than 15 years developing my personal skills and professional competencies around a whole health coaching model. From my years in corporate wellness and fitness to life in a high school health science classroom, I have covered a lot of ground and worked with a diverse range of clients. No matter the environment, my passions for healthful living and my hospitable heart toward others remained the same and allowed me to have a positive impact on many lives. It has truly been a gift!
As a coach, teacher, mentor, leader, friend, daughter, wife, and mother (just to name a few titles); I have learned that balancing life’s priorities is not easy and many of our personal needs take the backseat. Through my own experiences and listening to the experiences of others, I have decided to commit myself to those needing support and encouragement. As a Certified Health Education Specialist with more than 15 years experience, I know well the struggles we face and the pressures we place on ourselves to be all things to all people. I recognize it often takes a harsh reality or tough wake-up call to alter unhealthy behaviors or shift mindsets. Many of us find comfort in routine and well-marked paths, but life doesn’t always present itself with such clarity.
The freedom that comes from consistently choosing healthier behaviors is not easy, but it is just that… freeing!
Let me help you live with confidence in the freedoms of improved health. My coaching style is not a cookie cutter approach or a “one size fits most” program. Each client comes with their own history and hang-ups, their own unique inner battle, and therefore, their own course of action. Based on your readiness to change, we will evaluate your total wellness from six different dimensions. From there, we will have the opportunity to discuss food, exercise, stress, sleep, healthy mindset, supportive relationships, and placing value in something greater than yourself or those around you.

Dated my husband nine years before getting married!

Love dark chocolate, cold brew, and spicy foods.
Love to travel, but am especially drawn to Hispanic culture!
A sucker for warm sunshiny beaches and tropical, blue green waters.
Dislike doing laundry, but especially have an aversion to putting my hand in a bunched up sock to turn it right side out!
Enjoy being outdoors working in my garden and raising chickens.
Started lifting weights in high school and haven't stopped since!
